Headshots Matter is a community that helps emerging talent and seasoned professional headshot photographers thrive as creative entrepreneurs. Whether you shoot commercially for global brands, capture the stories of artists and actors, or support local businesses, there's a place for you in our global community.
From the start, we wanted Headshots Matter to be set apart from other photography networks and training programs. Our mission focuses on three core principles to ensure every photographer succeeds: Creative Freedom, Continuous Learning, and Collaborative Support.
To ensure we meet our principles, we aim to nurture your creative journey, helping you discover and refine your unique style, meet diverse client needs, and effectively market your talents. This means we support you creatively and help you develop and grow by providing informal and formal learning opportunities. We're here to help photographers at every stage, from start-up to expansion.
What's enabled our community to flourish and grow is the people who are part of it. They are eager to share ideas and knowledge in a creative and supportive environment where collaboration is essential. At the same time, through our community network, we work together to elevate and showcase our talented members' work to a global audience.
Today, we boast 150 members in over 100 cities worldwide, from New York to Tokyo, London to Sydney, and Johannesburg to Montreal.

Our mission at Headshots Matter is to empower headshot photographers to become their best creative selves through continuous learning, collaborative support and creative freedom.
Our Core Principles
Creative Freedom: At Headshots Matter, we empower photographers to express their unique style and vision to meet the needs of their clients. We believe that headshot photography isn't a one-size-fits-all 'look and feel'—people are unique, and we believe their portraits should reflect that, too. We encourage our members to experiment, innovate, and evolve their craft by pushing boundaries and growing to become their best creative selves.
Continuous Learning: In the constantly shifting landscapes of photography and business, staying ahead means embracing continuous learning. We provide access to knowledge and skills development through peer mentorship, coaching, and the open exchange of ideas within our community.
Collaborative Support: Headshots Matter's strength comes from our community's willingness to share knowledge, resources, and skills. Our collaborative culture is made possible because of open feedback and collective problem-solving among our members. It's all about supporting one another and recognizing that we succeed together as a community.
